RAPID 1-2-3® HEMA EXPRESS® Platform Description
The RAPID 1-2-3® HEMA EXPRESS® (EXPRESS) delivery system is a substantial improvement over traditional rapid test cassette formats. This fully enclosed detection system streamlines sample transfer, reducing the potential for cross-contamination and significantly lessening the risk of infecting the person administering the test. Test interpretation is easy to read and appears in 10-15 minutes.
The EXPRESS includes a sample pad that allows the test sample to be taken up and onto the pad, eliminating the need for transfer loops or pipettes. Sample size lines imprinted on each pad pose as visible marks indicating to the person performing the test that the pad absorbed sufficient sample. A diluent pod contains a premeasured volume of buffer enough to run the test.
The EXPRESS design facilitates its use with all HDS tests for infectious diseases. Antigens/antibodies for the detection of a particular disease are added to a proprietary developed lateral flow strip to detect the presence of antigens or antibodies to the disease in human blood, serum or plasma samples.
The presence of the disease is confirmed when both the Test and Control lines become visible after 10-15 minutes. If the disease is present in the test sample, then a visible red/pink line will appear in the results window at the Test “T” Line. In all cases, a similar band will form at the Control “C” Line. If only the Control - “C” line appears, the test is negative. The absence of the "C" line implies an invalid test.
